CBD & Breast Cancer

As a cancer survivor, I'm always searching for how to make choices that keep me healthy enough to avoid the Big C, Round 3  It's how I found CBD in the first place, a naturopath recommended it as I recovered from the ravages of cancer and chemo in Round 1 - lymphoma.

Round 2 was breast cancer so this post is as personal as it can get. Breast cancer came after, so I was already practicing new ways of being healthy. So no, CBD does not cure cancer, and we are not claiming it does.

What we were excited about in the article on this topic on Web MD is the recommendation that CBD is a great complimentary addition to your breast cancer treatment plan. Here's an excerpt:

"CBD works by interacting with endocannibinoid system, which means it can help reduce side effects of breast cancer treatment like pain, anxiety, insomnia, nausea, and vomiting. That said, it’s important to note that there is no evidence that CBD can treat or cure breast cancer itself.

"As a doctor, I make the distinction between complementary and alternative medicine,” says Andrea Mathias Schmucki, MD, a patient advocate for the Living Beyond Breast Cancer Hear My Voice advocacy program and a former family physician. She is herself being treated for metastatic breast cancer, or cancer that’s spread to other parts of her body. “I look at CBD as complementary, using it in addition to, rather than as an alternative to, traditional treatment.”

The article goes on to recommend medical grade CBD with valid COAs, which is what we offer at NUYU, with the added benefit of being organic.

We offer 3 strengths 500 mg., 1000 mg., 1500 mg.  As a Survivor I use the 1500 mg.
